Billboard in US and Billboard JAPAN which are group companies of Prometheus Global Media LLC (headquarters in New York) held "Billboard JAPAN Music Awards 2010" ceremony and some award wining artists showed their live performances in Tokyo Midtown on 6th February.
The awards are decided the following way. All artists who won the 1st of 9 weekly Billboard JAPAN Charts for the year 2010 had been nominated for the artist awards. Public had casted a vote for their favorite artists among these nominees through online and mobile. Billboard Japan had awarded the most prestigious award, "Artist of the Year 2010" to the artist who had won the most votes. EXILE had won this award for the second time in a row.
On that day, a high-profile Korean girls pop group, 4Minute, Nana Mizuki, HY, and other artists who had won the awards had shown live performances on the stage. Pink Lady, a Japanese female duo whose hit songs had been ranked in US billboard charts in the late 1970's had given us some comments. And also Nick Carter, a member of Backstreet Boys who is very familiar to Billboard Charts and Debbie Gibson, a diva in 1980's had performed on the stage.
A collaboration song of Chaka Khan who had won Grammy Award 10 times in total and has been renowned as an R&B queen and AI, an R&B singer representing Japan had been awarded "Billboard JAPAN International Collaboration Artists of the Year 2010".
These two diva's excellent performance had given the great impression to the audience.

Billboard JAPAN Hot 100 of the Year 2010 (the best single in the chart)
Artist: ARASHI Title: "Trouble maker".
Billboard Japan Album of the Year 2010 (the best album in the chart)
Artist: EXILE Title: "AISUBEKI MIRAI E".
Billboard New Artists of the Year 2010
Artist: TEE Title: "Baby, I love you".
Billboard Japan Artist of the Year 2010 (the best artist award)
